Apart from the clutch, nothing serious. Keep at and you will win, it's all part of the fun of owning a P38. If you can't take a joke you shouldn't have bought one.

cheers datatek, just on a bit of a low with it at the mo,it just seems to be an uphill struggle, looking at it logically most of it's faults are age related,

ive got quite a few problems with mine but they are only minor jobs, new regulator needed, bulbs out on hevac, air con problem and heated seats. i know im going to get round to getting them done when ive got the time, but i dont mind doing them as i really enjoy driving her.

keeping going with her and your not only enjoy owning and using her but a feel of person satisfaction after you've fixed everything needed.

You just got to laugh.

Its that old school brit trait of facing adversity and triumphing over it.

(god knows I have had problem after problem, fix one, another appears)

Just keep going for it!!

Firstly I appologise for knowing far too many people with Renalults. Just need to put it in persective:

My Dad's 5yr old Laguna £1250 for a new clutch.
Mates Mrs's Modus £850 for engine mount, oil change and new light bulbs: by all accounts a special tool is needed to change the light bulbs.
Mrs 97 Merc C200 £400 for a new gearbox speed sensor, filters and oil change (and that is a good car)
My old volvo 940 needed a heater matrix and it was a barsteward to do.

At least the rangie will make you feel V Good when you are driving it down the rd.

Last point how about spending £22000 on a Renault scenic 4 years ago, saw a five year old one in the local rag for £5000. ouch.

Just food for thought. Good luck with what ever you do.

Just stop and think for a minute... You could have something really boring that just works every time or...

If this is your only car and you have tons of other things you would rather be/should be doing then sell it. Otherwise, slap a big grin on and repeat after me...

I must be f#*king mad!

hmmmmmmmmmm maybe mine ain't so bad after all lol,all i have replaced is all the suspension bags, drag link and ball joint,i gave it a full service about 3 weeks ago including coolant, oil cooer flush, and intercooler flush
just that the clutch is gonna be expensive, and it may need a new injector pump,it has the hot start trouble, but it may just need a guy who knows what he is at,and adjust or replace bits,or i could chip it and get around it.
