Hello peeps

I currently own a 95 P38 HSE, and I have the problem of only having one key for it. I know a little about the workings of a Range Rover, but I am after some information if someone would be kind enough.

I know it's possible for me to fit a complete lock set which has 2 remote keys to my vehicle, but what I need to know is:

Will the Range Rover re-synchronise both keys by means of leaving them in the ignition as per the workshop manual? Or would I need to have it plugged in? Or is it a case of using the BCEM from the other vehicle, if the keys are chipped??

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Jay:)

Becm could have come off a diesel and yours may be petrol. Becm has engine ecu security code (EMS) which is unique programmed into it. Mileage is also stored in the becm which may be say 200K and your pride & joy may have only done 50K...you would feel sick when your odometer suddenly jumps to 200K:eek:

As "J" suggests...cheaper and better to buy a new key, unless your own becm is suspect or causing problems.
