Hi today my p38 got immobilized it doesn’t start at all only cranks up, but the weird thing the battery didn’t go flat and I started the car 2 days ago and no problem. Anyone here can tell me what may be happening? Door lock doesn’t work and the car got an aftermarket remote wired and I think that’s the reason why it immobilizes most time as it started immobilizing after the remote got installed, I’m thinking of getting an ecu with an emulator chip installed because I’m tired of it keep getting immobilized every month but at the same time I’ve been looking for a way to see why the immobilizer keeps kicking on and install the remote in a way that the becm doesn’t stay awake and drain the battery and a way that it doesn’t trigger the immobilizer if it’s the reason for it triggering on. Any help ? And most importantly any idea how to get it running? 1999 thor

Buy a nano, that way you can always use the EKA code to remobilise if you have to. Using an aftermarket remote (ie entering without the key) may be akin to the car thinking that it is being broken into by raising the sash button...just a guess

It sounds like the door latch needs replacement.

I am intrigued as to what exactly you mean by "the car got an aftermarket remote wired"

That what I mean

Unless that remote can send the FOB code to the BECM, you will always have the immobilized issue. There are firms out ther that will re-program the engine ECU to remove the need for a BECM code, but the BECM will still expect it from the FOB.

You can turn off the BECM Alarm & Immobilisation, but the Thor ECU still needs to receive a code. Also on GEMS & Thor you can turn off EKA, but this only disables the ability to enter it & the car never asks for it.

Looking at the picture above, any company that feels the need to put "Professional Manufacturer" on their product probably isn't that !!

On the diesel, with EKA and immobiliser functions turned off, no FOB code is needed, the mobilisation code is sent to the EDC automatically on unlocking the car with key blade or FOB.
