Busy developing new height sensors with my brother. The sensor itself is a non contact hall effect potentiometer. So no little wiper arms to wear out. The new sensors are going to be paired with a control PCB that lets them interface to the exsisting EAS controller. The arms are going to be 3D printed, but the idea is that they will be very light weight, easily replaceable and very cheap. We still deciding on what material to print the arm out of but it will be high temprerature resistant and have a high wear resistance.

We ordered the PCBs today. Im planning on having a set of these in my P38 quite soon to start testing.

What are you going to replace those sensors with once they fail?

For the past year ive been trying to buy new Dunlop sensors and i cant find stock anywhere.
 
Thats exactly my point. Dunlop is the oem. If you can find them they work everytime and have the reliability that you are quoting.

All the other no name brands that you want to replace your oem sensors with are a very hit and miss if they going to work and how long they will last.

As far as I can see, Dunlop exists as a name only, where the parts carrying that name are made these days is anyone's guess.

Yeah well thats an even better reason for why making these is a good idea.
 
For all that effort, why not look at using something like the L405 sensors, which output a voltage from 0.5-4.5V ?

They would probably just need modified brackets & arm length to get the correct voltage range ?
