P38 gearbox problem

I returned home yesterday after a run and everything was normal,had to turn round and reversed,when I engaged forward no drive in any gear high or low,reverse still working.
Anyone had a similar problem with ideas of the fault.
Vehicle is a 2000 4l petrol

Try to put it in "!" and see if it drives .........if it does its the sprag clutch failed

As in.....put it into First on the drive selector and once rolling go in to D and see if it changes gear - if it does then it is the Sprag Clutch.
