p38 front diff

hi all, my dad has a p38 2.5 dt
the front diff has got very noisy so ive been given the task of finding a replacement
my question is are all p38 diffs the same or do they vary between petrol and diesel etc?

hope someone can help

Give Steve Howarth a ring on 01949 859044 or 07788 491120. He runs Crowndiffs and is a good lad with reasonable prices for exchange or even second hand units. Tell him the year of the motor he will sort you something out. Unless it has run short of oil and died that way check the VCU. It maybe seized

Not the diff the viscous coupling in the transfer box. If that is seized it will knacker the diff up. More so the front one because of the rotational differences on lock. Have you checked it for oil it really helps if it has some in there.
