p38 ****ed off with hk

Hi guys

I have installed an amp to my p38 hk sound system and all i am getting is squelching and high pitch noise.

I am assured the amp is good.

If i hold it on to the connecter block I get the sound in the back and subwoofer but the cd player stops working.

could it be the head unit.???
