Hi All
OK so I have recently become the owner of a 1996 P38 2.5 DT with 150000 miles on the clock. Had very few problems so far, only sloppy steering and radiator goosed, but that's about it - so far! Until yesterday!
Over the weekend I left the car parked on quite a steep bank - nose up. When I came to start it, I let the glow plug light go off and then it usually starts immediately. However, it just turns over, no firing. I free-wheeled the car onto flat ground and lifted the bonnet. It appears there is no fuel pressure through the translucent pipe which runs from the fuel filter to the injector pump. Any ideas? Of course it sounds like the fuel pump but this seems quite a coincidence that it happened after I had left it parked on a bank.
I have read somewhere about bypassing the fuel relay - is this worth a go to at least prove the pump is OK?
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers
Sean
