Hi guys i am the owner of 1998 P38 4.0 Petrol.

Guess what ? I'm having AES issues.

I'm aware of hundreds of threads and have read through many suggestions but i'm confused as to where to go next.
So the big girl is stuck in the lowest position with all 4 lights on the height indicator lit and the RR with the arrow on the dashboard.
There is a new compressor in it which does not start automatically, however it does run when i bridge the relay in the fuse box and it runs when initiated through AES Software.
The same software displays every fault that can possibly be displayed and can unlock the AES temporarily.
I've changed the relay and 2 other fuses but with no progress.
What would be the next step in diagnosing the fault ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She's a right hand drive (UK Model) but currently residing in Spain and no mechanic wants to even let her over the door.

Thanks for suggestions.

EAS not AES.
The compressor will not run whilst a hard fault is present.
A long list of faults indicates you do not have good communication with the EAS ECU. Until you get good comms you can do nothing as the fault cannot be cleared.
What diagnostics are you using?

Hello and welome
What software are you running?
Have you reset the system as it wont start when there is a hard fault

Typograhical Error !! The software indicates a good idle but i'm no expert. I'm using the EAS Unlock Free Version by RSW Solutions.

I've tried resetting the system using EAS Reset by RSW Solutions, it clears the dashboard error message "35MPH" but no real indication that it's actually resetting a hard fault.

OK, you have "Good Idle", I assume you then hit the "Unlock" button? After you do that, what faults do you get if you then read faults?
Try some of the other functions like compressor on/off, read heights etc and see if they work.

Yes i can switch compressor on/off, i can discharge the tank and read heights and clear the error message from the dash, but when i unlock and read faults again i get a full list of every fault that it can report.

That's unusual:eek: I think I would take a look at the white connectors at the foot of the A post left side of the car. Corrosion is a common problem.
What is the state of the car battery? What voltage do you have when running diagnostics?

I haven't checked the voltage but the battery is less than 2 weeks old, i assume you mean the voltage on the battery ? I'm picking up a multimeter in the morning so i will check that and inspect those white connectors. Will they be accessible with the car in the the lowest position ? Or will i need to put her on a lift ?

A new battery means nothing these days and it should have been fully charged before fitting. Low volts can cause many problems.
Height of car makes no difference to connector accessibility. It's normal to have to cut the connectors out one wire at a time and solder and glue filled heat shrink the connections.

Yes i understand what you are saying, i'll check the voltage on the battery tomorrow. I stupidly assumed that the A posts were outside of the vehicle near the suspension. Could you point me in the right direction to find these connectors, a quick google search found nothing. Apologies i'm no mechanic but as no professional will look at her in Spain i have no option but to try and work it out myself or scrap her, which i don't want to do.

Left side of car in the front footwell remove plastic panel just in front of the A post on which the door is hung. You will see the connectors there.

Sounds to me your loosing Comms during use. Have you checked the obd plug ,both sides, for corrosion? What's the plugs like on the cable?
