Hi all, hope anyone can help. Noticed this morn the abs/brake/tc lights stayed on with poor brake response. Sorted itself out in a few mins so I'm thinking a pump is on its way out..mental note to check it out asap. Started the truck (98 p38 dhse) this afternoon, same prob with the lights..brakes ok..drive about 300 yards then crack. The sound of something breaking under the bonnet, clanking about till I managed to stop then whatever it was is preventing the engine turning over. Stuck on a hill on a side of the road in the ****ing down rain scratching me head. Could the ABS pump cause this? I guess it is driven from the engine and would hinder the engine turning if mechanical breakdown had seized it. Any ideas welcome.

The abs pump is not run from the engine and your non turning over has got nothing to do with that. It sounds as if you have blown some electrics big time. Check the relay numbers under the fuse box lid and before you do aything else replace the appropriate relays. ( abs is the black one ..about £11.00 : all the others are green & yellow and a few quid each.) Try that as cheapest and quickest approach.
If everything else electrical is functioning you haven't blown the fusebox itself but possible damage to the box at abs and ignition relays.

You can check your abs pump itself with a simple circuit screwdriver. There are plenty of threads on here dealing with it.
Good luck.
