p38 2 problems

Hi all new to forum ,ive just bought a p38 nice motor diesel i havea couple of problems and could do with some help. 1 passenger door does not lock on fob or unlock but if i push the button down all doors lock if i lift button all doors unlock. 2heater blows only cold on drivers side I presume its a blend motor but is it drivers side or the centre one that diverts air to either side. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated thanks Mick

If it's blowing cold at one side it is that sides blend motor that is duff. L/H or R/H blend motors control heat to their respective sides. Distribution motor controls distribution to various areas. There are two motors on the R/H side of the heater unit. Upper one is distribution motor lower one R/H blend motor. For door first look at plugs behind trim at base A post L/H side of passenger foot well. Check for moisture damage.

Door could also be a burnt lock motor or a mechanical problem.

So a damp plug stopping a proper connection to the outstation is not worth looking at first? He'd better just strip the door down first job then.
