I've just bought an overdrive off-of ebay (I haven't bought my Series and I'm already buying bits for it! :D)

I've been told that it's all good, very quiet, clean engage and disengage and complete. I'm going to pay on collection - can anyone tell me what I should be looking for when I go collect?

Fanks.

check for wear to the drive splines on the inside of the main input shaft and on the teeth on the clutch bearing, they do wear away over time. If you slide the clutch bearing assy inside the main input shaft and wiggle it you can see how much play there is:eek::eek::eek:

I would check the clutch sleeve teeth for wear. my overdrive just failed as these were worn too far.
there are some pics on page 2 of this

but basically if there is a change in the shape of the gear profile that will be wear. so the outer face of mine didnt look to worn but they were very plastically deformed further down the gear teeth.
