Outrigger positioning

I am currently looking at replacing the front driver's side bulkhead outrigger. This is on a Series 3 SWB chassis.

For its positioning, is it a matter of simply scribing a line on the main chassis, marking where the front of the old one was bafore cutting it off? It has been replaced before so the old one may not be perfectly placed anyway.

is the bodywork still on there ??

if it is just bolt it to the foot of the A-post and it'll be lined up
