Could anyone recommend a reliable SatNav system for a car? I have been
looking at the Streetpilot range and also iQue 3600. Any opinions, advice
etc welcomed.

I use TomTom on an iPAQ but they make a stand alone TomTom Go now. It's
based on the Pocket PC TomTom so should be good!

I've got a streetpilot 3 - bought s/h off ebay - very pleased with it.

I use TomTom on an iPAQ but they make a stand alone TomTom Go now. It's
based on the Pocket PC TomTom so should be good!

I use an iPaq 2210, PrymeNav and a Fortuna Bluetooth GPS. It works very
well, better than any in-car system I have seen.

Tom-Tom is much raved about but PrymeNav is a much overlooked product
which is robust and works well. It also costs £70 for all of Europe
coverage against the £300 or so you would need to spend on Tom-Tom for
the same coverage. It needs a lot of storage space, but CF-cards are now
available in 2Gb sizes for £120 (ish). I installed the PrymeNav
application onto an SD card and the map data onto a 2Gb SanDisk CF card.
Used with a cradle with a built in speaker it gives good clear voice
prompts.
