My 2003 v8 discovery 2 has just passed it's mot,iv'e decided to sort out a few minor jobs.I need to fix the door lock as the key just turns and doesen't do anything,i also need the original reg number.Along the way, someone put a private plate on it.How can i find the original reg number,i need it so i can get the EKA code.cheers.

Hmm! Sometimes wondered about that one.
I'd a thort the DVLA might be able to sort you out especially if you explain ithe problem.
But the VIN number won't have changed and the LR garage ought to be able to work with that, prolly easier to try that in the long run!

Thanks for your reply,iv'e found a mobile diagnostics not far from me.I'll give them a call, they'll probably be able to get the EKA code and change to allow key entry.Iv'e only got one fob,i wouuldn't mind a spare fob just incase.cheers.

To get the EKA code you have to tell to a main dealer the VIN which you can see from outside through the windscreen on the dash's RH corner

Iv'e found the old reg,and iv'e got my vin number.I need a spair fob, could i get one from a landrover dealer.
All you can do is ask them but i'd a thort it'd cost a lot to get one from them direct. but if that is all you can do, to get into your car and drive it then you don't have very much choice. Maybe others know a better way to get an original fob coded to your car.

Iv'e got a good fob,i just wouldn't mind a spare one.You know, just incase. Can you buy a fob and get it matched to your landrover, that would be good.
