What year is it?I’m looking to repaint my 90 pickup and was thinking of going back to its original colour but the Id doesn’t have the paint code stamped on it. Nearest I can see is Aries windjammer blue

It will either be LRC392 Shire Blue, or LRC424 Arles Blue. It’s difficult to tell from a photo which it actually is! If you know when yours was built (from the VIN) then that may aid you, as Arles was after August ‘89It’s a 1989

I do like the Aries blue so that may be the one i go forHi,
Mine is Arles Blue 1990 if that's any help. I wasn't sure and I emailed Landrover. They were very swift with their reply.
Have you used coach enamel?
Have you used coach enamel?
That`s good to know, I will be spraying as have a decent compressor and gun, but never used it, dose it flat and polish ok if it picks up any laning rash?Yes, it's brilliant to use and Paintman's paints are great, very high quality and the company's great to deal with. Have used both roller and aerosols with both giving excellent finish - the aerosols are good but they have a tendency to over fan out. Do use Paintman primers as many others react with synthetic enamels + UPOL #8 acid etch gives excellent results. If you don't have a mask set up recommend using Gerson 2k masks, they're the best disposables available.
That sounds great, just need to definitely decide on the color nowYes, flats and polishes perfectly but like all paints don't flat & polish until really dry/hard[!]
I've also found spray first coat, let flash off for ~20 mins, then spray second coat :. wet on wet, and there's very little orange peel. I've just aerosol sprayed my new doors like this and there's no need to flatten back. One could even lay three coats if wanted.
