Hi everybody, just joined and like everybody else have got a query :D . I was about to change the air filter in my '93 defender 200tdi but found excessive oil in the casing when I removed it. Doesn't look good I know but is it possible this is coming from a worn out turbo unit. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance, Nick. ps happy new year

is there a braided pipe about 30mm dia attached the the air filter as if so it will most likely have come from there as its a cump breather pipe

Thanks Discomania,I would say about an egg-cup full which was released when I removed the air filter away from the large flexi hose that goes to the turbo unit. Hi Discojamz, wots a 'cump breather pipe' and should that have a bit of oil in it. Been using it quite hard recently ,towing n off road etc so don't know if i've damaged something internally. Loss of power mid range too, feels like the turbo stops putting out. Any suggestions welcome. Ta.
