off roading Scottish Borders?

Hi, does anyone know anywhere to do a bit off off roading in the Scottish Borders? I used to go to a 4x4 park in Fife but move here now. There is obviously loads of farm tracks but dont want to get on the wrong side of any farmers?

There is a 4x4 pay and play site at lamancha its half way between Peebles and Penicuik

there is one track/green lane you can drive its called dere street it starts at melrose

Cheers mark is lamancha still there had a wee lock online and some people seem to thinks its closed?

Where about is Melrose does that one start I can find Dere Cottage is it near there?

lamancha is still open it never closed

am not sure ware dere street starts as i have never done i keep meaning to tho and i would be up doing it one weekend

if you wonted to go together i can get a map maybe even a guide

Hi Gary. Yes definitely still open. We're up there most weekends either building stuff or off roading.
