I did the BORDA advanced course in Milton Keynes, well worth it.

i just want to get a bit of training in mud really , went into a bit of a flat spin ( mentally ) on sunday because for some stoopid reason , when i'm driving in the slippy muddy ruts , i was worried about hitting the fence running alongside so kept trying to steer to the left :doh:and got very panicy ( resulting a heated exchange between me and Mr - not good):(

Muds..you got any p&p sites down your way ?

If so see if you can get someone from here to sit in with you and just do it again again and again. I learnt more from one day at Avon Dassett with FK sitting with me and talking me through things than the one day instruction course I went on . I learn better by doing something time and time again until its natural and instinctive.

I think there maybe a p&p site at place called Baldhu , Oddie told me about it ages ago , I did a google search then but just a few nutters in jap stuff came up .... I've still got the problem of no instructor though - humph

Let me get my Landy back on the road, then I'll happily join you for a day at Baldhu and give you some pointers.
I don't profess to be an eggspurt, but I've been driving Landys off road for over 40 years. ;)

If I were you I'd take Trewey up on his offer and also just try and get out on your local lanes with a local group as much as you can. There are several groups around in Devon and Cornwall who are regularly out green laning and I'm sure most would have no problem with you tagging along with them..

You will of course learn something on a formal course, but it will be such a controlled environment that the benefit you get from it will be quickly surpassed just by spending time out on the lanes with other experienced drivers - it will also be a lot cheaper!

If you are set on doing a course, what about Land Rover Experience in Honiton, bit expensive I know, but they do both driver training and drive around days and probably have the best training knowledge to be able to pass on.

Also there is a Pay and Play site next to Trago in Newton Abbot (Offroad Zone), only been there once myself but it would give you another option to go and get muddy!

Oh blimey i will take Trewey up on his kind offer , need to get a bull whip now so that he gets his landy fixed in super dooper double quick time:D Just kidding , if we don't get together till winter time even it'll be fine , even more muddy too :) In the meantime i may go and have a look at this place..4x4 Off-Road Driving & Driver Training - Devon & Cornwall
There just is nothing ( that i've found anyway ) down in West Cornwall re green lanes , and the Cornwall and Devon LR club only seem to do trialing.

Im with the est , if you can tag along with others you will learn just as much. The advantage of formal training is that its one to one ( or a vary smal group) its also concentrated but its not cheap ! BORDA was £1000 for three peolpe over two days, and that was reduced as we skipped the intro course !!! Trewy is your man me thinks . Beer tokens always help

There is a few green laning groups around Plymouth that are quite active, another one around Exeter and another one in East Devon - though they are all any marque vehicles and you get a lot of the young lads in their Zuk's which probably isn't what you want. I go out with a small group of Landy owners in North Devon (part of the Series III, 90, 110 club) and we venture out around the Green Lanes of North Devon mainly, but also Mid/South Devon a bit of North Cornwall and over to Salisbury etc. Subject to numbers you are both welcome to join us up in North Devon to follow us around - though beaware that a lot of our lanes are often quite scratchy!!

Not so sure about what clubs are in Cornwall, but there is the Cornish Coil and Leaf Club - I think that's still going??

There's a few lanes down West, but they tend to be classified as normal roads, so they're hard to find on the map.
DaveTDisco3 is from down that way and knows all the lanes, but he hasn't been on here for yonks. Oddie was pally with him, don't know if they're still in touch?
