none starter

my freelander one started off by the intercooler pipes collapsing replaced with steel ones made them sorted for a while then started again, revs not going above 1800 then disconnecter the MAF senser worked great
now no acceleration at all and loads of black smoke and runs very bad
I have also removed the ERG
starts fine.

update as of sunday morning started fine ran no prob and drove about a mile then when to park up and engine stopped now will not run, starts but only runs for a couple of seconds, could this be fuel filter pump,
the freelander is used off road on a farm so runs on red dev, had about 16 months no probs till now

Sounds like a turbo failure, and the engine is asking for more air than the turbo is allowing to pass through it.
