Hi everyone I am new to the forum. So not sure if I am even posting this in the right place. I am from the midlands and have a 1999 discovery 2 Td5. With a list of problems as long as your arm. At the moment she doesn’t want to fire, I couldn’t get her started yesterday. Then she randomly fired when I was giving her a sniff of contact cleaner, this made me think I had a fuel issue. Once I got her started I drove round the block parked on my drive turned her off so I could unlock my front door. By this point she had given up with life once again. With nanocom plugged in and jump leads connected to my other car. I am getting over 14v but only 190rpms on crank, after googling and finding out they need to be around 300 to engage the injectors. I put another cps and engine loom on that I had in the garage. Annoyingly this made no difference. Both cps have 1.3 ohms with multimeter. There is a hissing noise from the regulator when priming so I swapped the seals out, still no difference in starting or hissing noise. The fuel pump makes a obvious humming noise. Not to sure where to go from here as I am not keen on firing the parts cannon at it as it’s a old scrapper that I only want to use over fields and lanes. I also have no faults in nanocom besides air con. There’s probably a lot more information I have missed out. Please any help would be much appreciated. Can you test in tank pump with out pressure gauges?
