Just been out in my series 3, it started making clunking noises from the front end which seem to be worse going round corners so am assuming something wrong with the diff or half shafts etc?

Problem is I need to use the landi on thursday for a 25mile road journey as my small boat has to be moved, would this be possible maybe if i removed the front driveshaft or something like that?

Any advice appreciated!

If it's the diff or half shafts, how is taking off the propshaft gonna help???

Have you checked the front propshaft??

PS. go to the introduce section, and say hello to all the boys and girls, you'll get a better repsonse

When in 2wd the front wheels drive the diff and prop shaft.....unless you have free wheeling hubs.

As said I'd check the condition of the UJ's on the prop 1st.

If they are fubar'd then yes, removing prop will leave it drivable in 2wd.
