Hi folks, I bought my landrover last year and the fuel pump was fairly noisy but I just about got used to it. It wasn't an original landrover part. Then the fuel pump went 2 weeks ago and was replaced by a another, says Meat & Doria on the box and the sticker on it says BMW. ROVER suitable to O.E.M, Pieburg 72278280, apparently ok for my Freelander. When the mechanic fixed it the noise had trebled, like a car horn. They told me the part was likely faulty, had it replaced with same part, same make, no difference. Please help! The part with VAT was about €100. I took it o a landrover mechanic to fit, he thought it wasn't fuel pump related?? What do you think? Should I just look for a second hand Landrover fuel pump and maybe a new filter also. I'm clueless and know nothing about cars.

Same issue in 2022. Installed new pump, much noisier than the previous. Also takes more tries to start the car
