So Ive just put a 300 tdi back in my truck after being sat in the workshop covered over for 9 months, ran perfectly well last time. Left the old oil and filter in so it wasn't dry. Now the warning light wont go out, have tried an oil pressure gauge via a t piece that registers 0. Any thoughts ?

Thats what I'm wondering, its possible the cooler pipes dropped down and oil leaked out when i removed the engine. The filter is full, maybe i need to put oil in through the warning light hole until it comes out. Then try again.

This isn't going to help, but my 300Tdi stood for over two years on the drive before being dropped back in. Started up no bother and with no oil pressure issues. It was stood upright on supports along each side of the sump.

Changed the switch also noticed sump was concave, possibly from standing on its own weight. Took sump off beat it out, strainer and sump clear. All good.

I wonder of you had flattened the sump up against the oil strainer and so blocked the flow of oil?
When you say all good, does that mean the pressure is back?
