Hi this is my first time I have a 55 reg td4 auto with no glow plug light coming on and rough idle until warm smoking etc. Runs ace and starts first time any clues?

Do the revs rise on start then settle back to 780. Or does it just fluff along at around that engine speed until warm then settle down? If it does maybe look at the ECU temp sensor.

Ok thanks I will try changing it will that bring the dash glow plug light on as it dose not light up when the ignition is on before cranking ?
