No dash , no indicators and now no start ???

Hi people , im a new landrover owner ( 1998 xei ) and after having new modded head gasket , new head , coolant pipes , cam belt & kit , pistons & casings fitted as well as filters , oil change and other bits and bobs we went out for about an hour and on way back i realised i had no indicators and no dash board (no rev counter , no speedo the whole shabang ) so i drove home , very cautiously i mite add , and stood scratching my head , im no mechanic and have only had my drivers licence 1 month so my knowledge of cars is very little , so i went to start it up and now it turns over but wont start , so i phoned my home start & breakdown provider and after an hour of him tinkering told me that it looks like a bad earth ???? any one know of a good , cheap if poss auto electrician as iv just spent a small fortune on getting her back on the road , so funds are running low lol , any help or advice would be much appreciated , thanks

Try changing the ignition switch...........they are a common failure and give the kind of symptoms you have.

Also corrosion under engine bay fuse box .

Sounds exactly the same as what happened on my '99 XEI, turned out to be the ignition switch.
YXB100350 is the part number mate, might be an idea to change it anyway as it is quite common and a cheap part and easy fix too, good luck
