1 What is average mpg
2 Do you tow with it? if so what is it like as a tow car
3 Would you recommend it

I have heard very good reports of the diesel but unfortunately I have a bad
knee so it is out of the question

Well, I had the diesel and changed it for the auto due to the amount of
city and motorway (in constant jams) driving that I do.

Fuel consumption - Well, I've never worked it out, but I get around 300
miles to a tank (60 litres, but I never have to put more than 55 in)
against the 400 miles that I was getting from the diesel (with the same
tank)

I found the clutch on the diesel very heavy and not the sort of thing that
would be comfortable with a bad knee.

As for towing...can't comment really, but I have had the car laden with 5
adults and all their luggage for a 2 week holiday and it still drove like a
dream.

The auto box isn't the pokiest in the world, but then you wouldn't expect
it to be. It's only 4 speed and the kick-down is a little sedate. However,
it comes into it's own as a cruiser, where it's like driving an armchair
with no discernible lag on gear change.

I haven't really taken it off-road ( I got it so I could fit my golf clubs
and dog in - though not at the same time!), so again, I can't comment on
the auto's mud-plugging capabilities.

My advice..go for a test drive
