Hi to all on here from me and to Dazzle who joined today also , you'll see I liked your joining post !
On Tuesday past , I decided I needed a little run about and headed for a nearby massive but local auction looking for something basic to run around in . They do great catalogues online and printed and are haunted by the usual used car dealers and creatures like me , looking for wheels. They regularly take in trade ins straight from main stealers and lease motors etc. Anyway , I settled on a silver '04 auto 137,000 miles Freelander with good service history , a presentable MOT record and actually looking pretty clean in and out with no evident damage . I managed to beat off more than a few dealers and grabbed the car . So my journey with my 1st Landrover starts ! No doubt I will be a regular reader here but have already topped up my rear diff due to slight weep from shaft seal 'til I get organised and fit replacement . Next is leaky Turbo intercooler hose at top front of motor , then polish the hell out of headlight covers . Engine is lumpy on cold start up with minimal white exhaust smoke that immediately goes away . Motor is pretty quiet , and no bangs or grinding from transmission . Stuck the car in for MOT on Thurs. Passed with 4 minor advisories . Happy days . Thanks for looking at my intro , see you around . Anyone wanting to comment on the start up smoke and lumpy tickover , please do , note the car doesn't struggle to start , but it is nice weather right now . I will probably look back at earlier posts on this as no doubt others have walked in my shoes .
Cheers , Nelly
