Hi, All ..In the last couple of weeks I got myself a td4 02 Freelander and after 500 miles or so after having a 200tdi disco its a culture change.
The freelander is very smooth on the road and pleasant to drive but time will tell how good it is when things go wrong.
In total I managed 140k in the disco and had over the years most of the normal problems.
I still have a 1990 2.5n/a swb that is currently off road as my summer project is to fit a new crossmember to the rear and repair/replace a rotten nearside door and overhaul the brakes with new parts all round.
Prior to that I ran about in a series 3 2.25 swb station wagon for a few years that at the time I think it was always requiring something or other done but good fun for the most part. I managed almost 60k in this motor before its life was cut short.
The reason for change was disco was getting on in years a the good lady would not even try to drive it.
Tom.. the guy who is being slagged off by all as a hairdresser by mates who still have discos and 90s
