rite running costs, well ur prob get aboot 25 miles to gallon if its a 110 (which I would HIGHLY recommend!!)
other costs, put aside a couple grand a year for repairs, UJ's clutches, ball joints, propshafts, timing belts, radiators, all seem to love needing replacing.

unlike many other vehicles, milage dont mean jack!its all aboot the chasis, bulkhead, crossmember condition-NO RUST NO HOLES NO PATCHED UP HOLES IS WAT U WANT!
umm wat else, ah make sure high low diff lock on/off all engage with little more than a sturdy push (they can b pretty stiff). gearbox, test in all gears at different revs.
i would recommend a 200tdi or better a 300tdi engine, they are more refined than earlier engines and not overly complex with electricity like the latter td5 (landyzone regulars HATE electricity in their landys)

hope that helps a wee bit, theres some real jerks, oops I mean experts on here that'l be of some real good help for ya mate. the likes of slob, redhand, odenne, and even yella are the people to head for for advice, technical stuff and a rite good **** take!

enjoy,

TEDDY

must be the air down there that does it

the 110 that i use daily hasnt had much more than £50 spent on it this year - last year musta been less than £200

just dunno how you can get to £2000 unless you and your family and friends have zero mechanical sympathy and pay stealer prices for parts and labour

well then ur very lucky aint ya.jus lettin the guy know that landys can go wrong. and that there are certain common things that are prone to goin wrong. and yes, I have spent 2k. aint i unlucky.

wouldnt call mechanical faults being careless...as u may tell, i'm pretty bitter bout all th things gone wrong on my landy!fookin useless heap of over hyped ****e

maybe the one you've got has been badly messed with in the past - i doubt if there is anyone else on here who would agree with you saying you'd need to budget £2k a year for repairs

unless they had something other than a depender and didnt own a set of spanners

buddy i was kinda exagerating, i dint realise someone wood take it so personal!but i stand by that landys, like everything, have their faults, and td5 onwards are even more costly wiv all their fault codes etc. sorry if i hurt ur feelings.i own spanners, but cant fix a clutch fork

Bloming ell I can get a complete 200tdi engine for £250 and an axle (Non salisbury) for £50. that's 6 engine and axle changes for £1800 and £200 for consumables. How much damage do you do to a landy to get though 6 engines & 6 axles, in a year.????

uj's twice, clutch, clutch fork, clutch slave and master, new syncro mesh, gearbox backlash, proshaft. dont pretend to b a mechanic, so ofcourse hav to pay for labour....and i never greenlane...fancy takin it off my hands
