Big plans my friend when I first brought it I started earring how bad and unreliable they was. So I waited to get it through the mot and it failed but only on a gatter. So Yh had it bout 7 months now but only started putting money in to it 3weeks ago I’ve done egr valve and injection harness so far. Which transforms the car no end picking up exhaust Saturday and waiting for my new steering wheel as I’m 6ft 6 an can’t reach drivers door card with standard one so going smaller. That’s to date still got more. mine 2002 manual 77.000 miles silver but going green lol how bout you what you got and what’s your plans?

yep, thats the one. I did do quite a few. I lifted it 2 inches, did a spring conversion, fitted a winch and winch bumper, heavy duty rear bumper and tree sliders. The lift is what I regretted the most as it messed up the handling. I should have probably kept it all original. I bought it without viewing it on ebay...it was very risky but luckily the chassis was ok.

Oh I plan on lifting my to get 33’s on also whinch bumper lightning roof rack the works planing on travelling the country with missis and kids with some off roading of course:D

I fitted bigger tyres to mine and sold them after about 1 week (not near as large as 33s). The acceleration was horrendously slow. You can overcome it by changing diff or transfer box gearings and tuning the engine, but it is more hassle than it is worth and will add more stress to all sorts of components. If you are planning to tour the country I would keep the lift and wheel sizes standard for comfort. The D2 is very capable offroad in its standard form. The TC works very well. If you do any offroading, the tyres will be very important. I had BFG mud terrain tyres on mine and they were quite loud on the motorway but perfectly drivebale up to about 130kmph. I now have BFG all terrains fitted to my Defender, which are quieter and perfectt for most terrain...unless you go into some really really muddy areas. Lifts and big wheels do look very good, but drivability really suffers. I had a curved light bar on mine fitted just above the windscreen...again it looked great but I got loads of wind noise and a buzzing through the radio every time it was turned on. If you fit it make sure you leave a large enough gap so that the air coming off the bonnet and windscreen has enough space. Perhaps even fit a smaller one to you winch bumper.

Please take my advice only as my advice, other people may have had different experience and everyone´s land rover is their own pride and joy for them to mod as they please :)
 
He is right it's all about a balance of compromise. You will soon find out if a wheel bearing or shaft is not 100% but it is all easily doable and loads of fun. What tires you thinking about? I have insta turbo special track on the fronts, but cooper stt pros on the back. I like the mix

Was thinking cooper stt Pro all round. From what I’ve heard there brilliant off road and noise isn’t to bad on road. But noise not really issue as is ride comfort as I come from a slammed car with loud exhaust lol gone total opposite now;)

That’s great all advice appreciated so thanks. As for ride quality I don’t mind to much as can’t imagine it’s to comfy off road. Plus I had lowered car with loud exhaust. As for speed I wouldn’t have a discovery and expect it to be quick lol especially fully loaded with gear.
