Newbie with a Problem

Aloha to all from sunny Hawaii:

I recently bought a 1993 Range Rover County,SWB with 88,000 miles.
Has anyone had experience with "used" ABS boosters? Can they be reliable or am I just going to be shelling out more $$$$ in a few months for a new one? The new ones cost nearly $2,000 USD.

I would appreciate any input and advice.
