Newbie Question on Radio Swop

Hi all,

I have just bought my first Range Rover and its has the original RR radio fitted which I belive is made by clarion. I want to swap it out for the newer RR Alpine unit, can anyone tell me if this is just a matter of taken the old one out and swapping it for the new one? Are they wired the same? Also will my steering wheels buttons still work with the newer head unit?
