Hello
Totally new to this forum so hopefully somebody can help. I have a2008 Defender 90 XS with standard Boost alloys. Tyres are 235/85/R16 General Grabbers.
For fun use, I'd like to get a different set of wheels and gone for satin black Zu rims, 7x16.. On these, I'd like to go for the chunkiest MT tyres and think BFG MT MK2s. What is the max size I can get on. Some people say 265/75/16 and others say 285/75/16.
For road use, I want to replace the current Grabbers with BFG AT KOs on my current Boost rims. Again, what size can I get on my current wheels?
This is where my knowledge disappears - is there a different in offset with the 2 types of wheel? Do either of them need spacers?
And finally, given the slightly lower ratio of the tyres, do I need to consider getting higher springs to lift the car by 2" or so?
Can anybody help me please?
best
David
