Hi everyone,
I’m new to this, so hello. I’ve got a Discovery 2 1999. It’s a lovely example. Only 80k on the clock and I’ve just had a galv chassis and all new suspension fitted. The new suspension has lifted it a fair bit even though it’s standard height, (but heavy duty). Plus the old springs were shot. Anyway, I’m after some advice regarding the wheels. I’ve still got the original alloy R16 235 70 wheels on but they now look a big small, so I want to get bigger wider wheels/tyres. I’m no expert on this subject at all and have been given lots of confusing info’ with some saying fit spacers and others saying no way because you’ll snap the axle! All I want is some sound advice. I’m thinking of going to modular steel rims as it’s so much cheaper and I think black would look good anyway. I’m also confused with how much offset I need. I’m thinking a would like 18” rims at 10” width with AT tyres. Anybody out there willing to provide some simple sound advice?!
