Hi everyone, Iv'e been a LR owner now for 2 months - 1994 Defender 110SW 200TDI in - yes! - AA Yellow. It CAN be seen from the moon. The reason for buying (apart from I like unusual vehicles) is I plan to tow a caravan to Portugal next week to put a roof on an old ruin I bought in the north of the country (great off-roading). Living in the caravan with the missus will be a real test. I am not a rich bugger so when the bit of money I have runs out, we come back. Ken

Hello ken. Its going to be a long long drive:eek:, seat cusions and ear muffs/plugs could make it a little more comfortable. You should enjoy crossing the mountains and the spectacular scenery.
Have fun;).

Eyup Ken and good luck to yer chap. If you need a cook and general dogsbody I volunteer my missus (The Ayathollah). Oh and when yer money runs out sell the Ayathollah on!!!!!!!!!!.

Regards WP.

Thanks for the welcome! Have you a yellerun' too? The springs/shocks seem fine at the moment. The Landy has done 220k miles but the recon engine's done 2500miles, gearbox 4000miles, excellent bulkhead and chassis, new rear crossmember, rear shaft, fuel tank etc. The thing that worries me a bit is the engine fan seems a bit shaky but works and it doesn't overheat on the guage. Iv'e heard that the cooling (especially with a caravan) is very important on the 200TDI to stop a head gasket problem. Have thought about a Kenlowe but a bit expensive - any other ideas?
