Hi All!

Just bought my first LR - 2005 Disco 3 V6 Man 95k. Bit tatty, but sorting it out!
Like the drive etc. Don't like the problems! Don't know if it is normal or I am just being unlucky.

Had it thoroughly serviced by a friend (fully trained and operational mechanic) all fluids, cam belt etc. He couldn't do pump belt - arms too big! Took it to a 4x4 'specialist' who said they would do it for £90 plus belt. All done - now no audio or sat nav, and a real stink of diesel!! They said that is how it is with LR's and maybe it will all come back on!

Told them not happy, refused to pay bill (which is now £420 - as they had to do some other stuff - plus a new key!). They have agreed to have it back tomorrow to see what they can do. We'll see!

This morning offside rear brake binding - previous owner said that he had a new parking brake fitted about a year ago.

Is this what I am to expect? Not used to this - have had mostly Mercs - sold my SL55 AMG to buy this plus some sports gear and maybe a caravan (is that allowed!!).

Hope to report that all is well soon! Looking for encouragement to stay with it - I really like the vehicle.

Sounds normal for an LR product, you have to remember, they are not cars, they are adult hobby kits. You either need very deep pockets or the ability to DIY, either way you need a back up car.

Well I am learning fast!

Specialist had vehicle today and has told me that I need a new head set at around a grand for a new one! And I thought mercs were expensive! I will see if I can get it repaired.

They looked at rear brakes, cleaned them and said they were fine. Stuck on again. Probably time for some DIY as paying isn't getting me very far.

Hey ho!

Evening all, just got a 2000 Defender TD5, Previously had a 2000 plate freelander 1.8 (what a pig!! of a car).
