Hi, I already own a td5 es disco but have just bought a 1972 series3 swb (I think it is anyway), 2.25 petrol. Its had a new chassis, parabolic springs/bushes, fairey overdrive, new clutch & cable, recon starter and is pretty tidy.
Any one give me any tips and advise on owning one of these, its tax exempt and will be insured hopefully for less than £100 on classic insurance.
Thanks, Paul.

Looks nice chap. I agree wiv the Tin miner tho', that is the most beeezaaaar place I've seen front spots! I'd ditch a couple of mirrors too, looks like a Chuppa chup display!

Oh, & welcome to Lary Zone. :D

Thanks fellas, I agree, the spots and mirrors look a bit iffy. I have used the forum before on the disco section, so no doubt I will be visiting this section on a more regular basis. By the way, I did mean to ask about the heater. It does have one but it doesnt work. Any tips would be appreciated.
Ta, Paul

thats landrover's way of letting you know that you do indeed have an original heater fitted

I sometimes think that we're mis-understanding the purpose of the heater in a Landrover though.

Most people assume it's to provide warm air to the cab but I'm of the opinion that it's actually a cunning cold-start device designed to extract the maximum amount of warmth from the cab and transfer it to the engine.
