Just to introduce myself - I currently own a Zafira and want to purchase a Freelander... enjoy driving, and look forward to meeting you all!

I've come here primarily to get the views of people who own Freelanders and find out which would be best, and perhaps meet a few other landys!

best for girls, best for guys, best for everyone except farmers.

If it is to replace the Zafira then an FL will a good substitute, the 5 door would be the best option. The TD4 is the best of the engines in the FL1s. I know nothing of the FL2 but would be surprised to find out that the TD4 was as good in that as well.

They are better off road than received wisdom seem to think; it's mostly about the right tyres and picking your route......and also depends on what you need with regard to off road ability.
