new radio steering wheel controls don,t work

hi there
have just fitted a sony radio c/d i pod unit to replace the alpine radio cassette which was fitted to my 01 series 2 discovery when i bought it which is great apart from the steering wheel mounted controls seem to have no effect on the unit (which worked on the alpine unit) as i understand it it is connected via the small jack plug in the back of the unit which is plugged in am i missing something

If your Sony has the facility to receive the signals from the steering controls it will have
small jack socket in the rear to plug a jack plug which is part of the interface lead you will also require.
Most ICE shops have the leads Accessories from Car Audio Centre - Car Audio - CarAudioCentre.co.uk

thanks for that lead in question is already present and was working on old alpine radio have plugged it into sony unit but no joy is it possible lead might be faulty or become disconnected at steering wheel end

Yes it's is possible, also it's possible that you require a similar lead but unique to Sony.

So much hassle I didn't bother, and so just use the head units controls.
