So I have own my first freelander/Land rover about 7 month and drive about 2 month.
Car is freelander td4 sport automatic 2004, like car so much.
Drive about 295000km when buy now bit more 300000km.
I buy car good price so far what I think, but car seller told me car have bit problem in engine, when warming come this noise , like (tik tik tik).
First what I think some valve lifter make that.
I don't worry noise so i buy car because price was ok, I think I looking later what makes noise.
After 1 month near home car broken and start running only 3, later i start looking what happen and I think sylinder 4 nozzle don't work.
I buy another nozzle and car start running OK, but about 2 minutes later start noise again but bit different, start hearing where noise come and same time engine dead (start motor don't anymore making anything).
This points I pick up car in my work (truck garage).
Take off sylinderhead and I see what happened, valves have go down and make engine stop.
It was so much damage that I start looking new engine, Estonia have 1 and don't play much (DHL losted engine).
But I look more, UK have rover 75 manual engine, run 200000km, I ordered that.
After couple weekends (month ) I can start "new" engine and that running so so nice but when I think I go test drive i look 1 more time oil and that was grey.
Antifreeze have mixed with oil, I pick up old engine oil cooler and change oil.
After everything looks fine but don't have power, I changed maf (old engine ) and fuel filter.
Power comes back and car don't newer feel so powerful what now.
Week later alternator broken and I changed rover 75 alternator and connector.
Have changed front / back brake, every oil, back brake line.
Engine swap need almost every hose/pipe change old for new.
Nozzles is what come with new engine, turbo is old original.
Automatic gearbox oil cooler broken when remove old engine, I fitted new but that need really make bit work with pipe/hose because new was v6 oil cooler.
Thanks local hydraulic shop i can make hoses and pipes.
Spot lights have installed too now.
I think freelander come long friend for me, wife, and jaguar what is 2 car this point and freelander 1.
Can asking more if somebody need more info for engine change.
