I am a Newbie to the forum and look forward to exchanging tips, queries and possible solutions about the joy's of owning yet again another Land Rover. My previous 30 years of owning Land Rover's, on and off, have been a series 2 & 3 diesel, Disco 300 diesel and my newest venture of a 51 TD5 Auto, had it about 2 months and done about 2k miles. I have to say prior to owning this TD5 I have had "trouble free" times keeping all 3 motors on the road. This TD5 is giving me some grief to say the least. My first problem was the ECU red connection full of engine oil. Changed the injector rail and problem cured. Next the fuel pump in the tank failed, changed and back on the road. I have now started to experience very lumpy starting even when the engine is hot. It needs continuous engine cranking and foot on the throttle to get it running. Once running it drives OK. ( will change the diesel filter tomorrow ) It has also started to display a red flashing light along side the D symbol on the Auto box selector and driving slowly, I assume limp mode. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
