yes, by that it looks like you like football! but now you explain forward control!!
Have a looksie at my avatar..... That is a pic of Series 2B Forward control. (The vehicle is controlled from a position that is above/in front of the engine.)
Forward control vehicles are also known as Cab-Over-Engine vehicles or Cab-Overs!
Vehicles with the cab's situated behind the engine are refered to as "Normal ", "Conventional" and in some circles...."Bonneted control"

You confused yet???? Hmmm.......Can't say that i blame you if you are.

My Series 2B is an ex-SADF. (South African Defence Force) vehicle and was originally designated as a "mobile switchboard". It is currently fitted with the 2,6L semi side-valved 6pot. It's a lovely engine but is no great shakes in the power dept. especially with such a big body fitted.
The engine is soon to be replaced with an OM 602LA Mercedes Benz engine, having a displacement of 2,9L. The 602 is a 5cyl turbo-intercooled engine producing 120Hp @ 3800 rpm and 280Nm torque between 2000 and 2300 rpm.

The Rover 6 cylinder engine will the be installed into my Series 2A which originally had the 2 1/4 4Cyl engine. The Series 2A is fitted with a hydraulic winch which is situated above the rear axle and can pull to the front as well as the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle will be fitted with a flatbed/dropside body.

Hi V890
I have always been mad about Land Rovers, the size ,shape and colour are not really important to me.
I would love to get my grubby paws on a 101, but unfortunately there are very few here in S.A.
