new member def 90 '02

hi, i have a 2002 defender 90, love it, use it on and off road and towing. few issues looming prior to MOT, handbrake, should it auto adjust?, bit of a smell of diesel when i turn the engine off following a run, some drips on the drive, a shudder at about 45 mph in 5 gear when accelerating, stops when depress clutch, have checked tyre pressures and fine. any one with any thoughts welcome to comment on these littel niggles. thanks to all for reading.

Welcome. I had a bit of a vibration on mine at a certain speed some time back. One of the UJ's was fooked on the front prop so had the front prop changed (turns out it wasn't the correct prop anyway) which cured it for a short time but it came back gradually. In the end it was down to the tyres which the sidewalls had started to break down (BFG A/T's). Swapped the tyres and all good since.
