hi all i am new the land rover and i thought the best place to learn about them would be here, it's the range rover in particular i am interested in, the wife has let me have £7000 to spend on one so will be asking questions, and doing a lot of searching, as you may guess from my name i have a merc she's 10 years old 100,000 just, 3 LT TD saloon , never let me down once, i have had a bad accident at work last year which has left me disabled and i use a wheelchair, and a stick if it's not to far to walk, we have two young children, So i want a range rover,

1, because i can get in the the stood postion

2 ,it will fit my chair and a pram + bags and odds and sods for hols ETC

3, i want to be in a high postion on the road

4, i will not be doing mega millage just manchester to kirkham at weekends and through the week.

5 ,i think they look great and will now suit my needs

6 i want the BMW engine <<<< have been told this is a great engine

7 not bothered about petrol or diesel

8 Automatic >>>like my Merc

9 Air con ----cream leather a must

10 i just think they are great cars...


so where do i start, which vertion do i need ie P38.

welcome mate dont know much bou automatics me self but some on here do

I think if you want a BMW engined Rangie for £7k your looking at the earlier P38 diesel which is available as an auto (I think the petrols were still based on the old rover V8 at this level, but others will advise better on engine types). Best to do a search & read up on this forum on all the points to check before going out to look at them. Good luck & welcome.
