Hi new to this here my question/problem
td5 fuel filter housing garage tell's me this is going to cost 260+vat +fitting
and retest for m.o.t £405 total

is it easy yo fit and how much should it cost they say filter crossthreaded
and botched on!

Never fitted one but would say eassey job for anyone to do.
I would say garage has got the drift youre no mechanic and is about to rub his hands together and rip you off.
try Paddock motors for houseing price

Just looked for you , not listed, also had quick surf on net found nothing, you may need to make a few calls, it could be a main dealer part but try to keep away from them. how about a second hand one off a breaker

when I used to have a series 3 I needed to replace the filter head. I went to my motor factors and they fitted me up with a filter and filter head from a ford escort van filter was about £3 and the filter head was about £25 if I remember rightly. In theory should be able to do the same with disco so long as the pipe and fittings are the same.

cheers for your replies part is from the main dealers ,due to needing it for my m.o.t
have decided just to bend over and take it this time round need `disco back on the road a.s.a.p defo coming here for advice with any future problems thanks for your time

seems a hell of a lot for something thats held on to the chassis by two bolts take longer to bleed the system through than it will to change it lol how long ago did it fail it's test? think if its retested within 7 or 14 days of failing at the same test station (cant quite remember) it should be retested for free think it'll state on the fail sheet somewhere.
