Hey all
been reading the forums quite a bit before and after purchase, but thought I'd say hi and join properly
I recently decided with some mates to do a 4x4 trawl round scotland next year, with the only restrictions that it had to be a 4x4 and a max budget of £1500 per car. Well I had a disco 2, about 10-15 years ago so decided to go down that route - figured that what better than something which leaks oil all over the place, and is likely riddled with rust, to get me through.
Last weekend I bought my car - and I've had the biggest grin on my face since then. This one is actually older than the last one I had and is a 1999 V8 thats got some offroad mods already on it (2 inch lift, snorkel, steering guard). And came precoated with about 2 inches of mud on the bottom. Of course its got an oil leak - practically nothing left in it - but it got me back 100 miles from picking it up, so now its in the garage ready to be examined in detail.
I know almost nothing about car maintenance - this is a toy on which to learn though so I'm going to try and do everything myself. I've got a big list of things to do and will no doubt be lurking round the forums for all the wisdom buried in here.
I apologise in advance for all the stupid questions that are likely to follow!
Andy
