New depression valve assy.

Hi everyone,
Decided to replace depression filter assy. on my td4 after reading all the problems that may occur if it clogs. I removed the old one and it was completely clogged. You could wring the oil out of the filter. When I opened the new one theres no filter but some sort of plastic gadget. Is this a mod. to improve reliability or is this the wrong filter. It fits in and theres no smoke when the engines running.

Depression Valve?? wot does this do? Is it what yer press when the doors fall orf & the VCU & IRD pack up and the Head gasket blows for the 10th time???

Thanks for your quick reply Ming,much appreciated, I alsoblanked off the vacuum pipe to the egr. what a difference.

Next step is to fit the egr bypass. If you're impressed with the blanked off vacuum hose trick, you'll love the bypass.
