New defender 90 problems..?

Looking at buying a new defender 90, but some people are saying door fall off etc, and some people never have a problem....?

So what the story with the new defender 90, before I make the jump...!

Buy one with a 200TDi in mate, no ECUs, PAS, comfortable, and a proper number of seats.

Apparently they leak the same, they have the strange new interior and there were some mechanical problems, although i'm not sure if they have been resolved now (the worst one being very premature gearbox failure).
The TDCi model seems pretty pokey having been present at a test drive and has a 6 speed gearbox (that is 6 forward gears, not 5 speeds and broken!) though personally I would still prefer a TDI (for reliability and simplicity) or a TD5 given they go well and you can still find tidy examples around.

I dont understand why anyone would pay £20k for a 90? I just don't think they are value for money. You can buy a brand new VW golf and a very tidy second hand 90 300tdi and still have change out of £20k and have more fun not worrying about scratching your 90.
