New Clear headlights Wipac are they MOT friendly

My brother-in-Law mentioned that if they are clear
and not as supplied on the original vehicle they
may be failed by the MOT for the fact that when
it rains this could cause a reflection ??

What's the group think

BTW I also have blue lamps in them but only 55 watt

as yella says, plus the beam pattern has to have the "kick" to the left. It does not matter about the lens having no refraction markings as the bulb will be reflected internally to give the correct beam pattern. As long as your bulbs give white light when lit it does not matter about the colour that they appear before being turned on. (I am an mot tester)

Also depends on whether they operate when it's tested. If you've wired them properly with an inline fuse, take the fuse out for the test and if asked say they're for off-road use only.

It's slightly dubious whether this is completely legal, since you're then going to put the fuse back in once it's passed but it should get you a pass.

Cheers,

So its all down to the bulbs then my bulbs have a blue coating
and give Out a slight blue hue when turned on......

So do I change the bulbs to white before the MOT

BTW always wanted to talk to the STIG are u Damion Hill :D

can you pass an MOT wiff no headlights??

them be driving lights/spotlights or whatever they are called this week and the dude sed 'headlights' so maybe we need to clarify what lights he means

If a vehicle is presented with no night time lights that is how it is tested and it cannot fail, still requires indicators and brake lights. i tested a willys jeep that was presented like that recently and it also had its windscreen folded so it did not require wipers or washers.
